This free book-gifting program for children from birth to age five was launched by Dolly Parton in 1995 to inspire a love of reading. The program mails one age-appropriate book each month to enrolled children with the mission of fostering a lifelong love of reading by giving children free books, which helps improve literacy skills and supports early childhood education.
